Product Description SCALE MODEL BOAT From the Manufacturer This is the world's biggest 1/35 scale plastic model kit. Italeri has produced this massive model of the WWII German Type S-100 Schnellboot, (motor torpedo boat) in amazing and exquisite detail. This "jaw-dropping" 100% new tooling Schnellboot S 100 kit is beyond comparison and has been lauded worldwide in the most popular and prestigious modeling magazines. How big? The hull is over 39" long.. Italeri is using a special molding and construction technique with small bolts & nuts to hold the two hull pieces together without glue. These parts are covered up with plastic parts so the nuts and bolts do not show in the final construction. Amazingly, This will also make the model much more adaptable for those that wish to R/C the boat. There are over 450 plastic parts, 22 clear parts, two different diameters or rope and a big tree of over 90 photo-etched parts. It even comes with extra building materials and a screwdriver. Four torpedoes are ready to go, two in the launch tubes and two waiting their turn. The decal set and precise painting instructions let you build one of two different boats. The Schnellboot S-100 sits on a custom designed display stand. Detail, detail and more detail abound. To assist the modeler, Italeri included their unique, beautifully printed Photographic Reference Manual (PRM) containing in-depth photos and diagrams of the real Schnellboot S-100. A magnificent build of this incredible model is detailed in the May-June Issue of the International Plastic Modelers Society (USA) Journal. So exacting is this huge kit, that when completed, the only things missing are water, barnacles, the smell of diesel fuel and the sounds of tense “battle-station” excitement of the real crew.
