The PFERD POLICAP® Seamless Abrasive Cap is a professional-grade grinding solution designed specifically for titanium, aluminum, and their respective alloys. Measuring 7/16" x 1" and manufactured in Shape L (conical with radius end), this abrasive cap is ideal for controlled surface work on contours, edges, and complex component shapes—especially in aerospace and turbine-related applications. Built with 150 grit SiC-COOL (silicon carbide), this POLICAP® cap uses a specialized grain selection and an active grinding additive in the bond to promote cool grinding performance. This helps reduce workpiece temperature and prevents chips from adhering, improving finish quality and reducing loading—common challenges when grinding titanium and aluminum alloys. POLICAP® abrasive caps feature a seamless design, allowing the entire abrasive surface area to be used for uniform wear and consistent results. During operation, the cap expands securely onto the holder for stable grinding performance and reduced slippage. Product changes are fast and easy—simply twist slightly clockwise and pull off while leaving the holder clamped in the tool. Suitable for materials including titanium, titanium alloys, aluminum, brass, copper, zinc, cast iron, thermoplastics, and GRP/CRP composites, this abrasive cap is ideal for leveling, step-by-step fine grinding, and surface finishing. For best results, operate at a recommended peripheral speed of 2,000–4,000 SFPM. Do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of 5,500 SFPM.
